Experience this delightful crispy jackfruit recipe, featuring tender green jackfruit with a firm and fibrous texture, coated in a savory blend of vegan liquid egg and spices, and pan-fried to golden perfection.

Notes:

  1. There are two different types of jackfruit: ripe and green. For this recipe, we will be using green jackfruit which is it’s mild and neutral in flavor. The texture is firm and fibrous similar to pulled pork.
  2. The vegan liquid egg used in this recipe is from JUST egg.
  3. Store any leftover crispy jackfruit in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or air-fry for a few minutes before serving.

1 can green jackfruit in brine

1/4 cup vegan liquid egg

Cooking Instructions

Drain the jackfruit and pat dry with a clean paper towel.

Add the jackfruit to a bowl along with the vegan liquid egg, black pepper, cornstarch, paprika, salt, and garlic powder.

Heat up a nonstick pan with the oil. Add the jackfruit and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden. Flip to the other side and cook for another 3-4 minutes. It is ready to be enjoyed once golden on both sides.
