Whipped Tofu with Ginger Syrup

Watch how to make it here

This smooth and creamy whipped tofu is served with a sweet and pepper ginger syrup. It is prepared with only 6 ingredients and takes less than 15 minutes to whip up!

Ingredients

  • Firm Tofu: Firm tofu is the perfect level of firmness for this recipe. Silken holds too much water, while extra firm risks not being smooth enough.
  • Soy milk: To maintain the delicious soy flavor.
  • Salt: To suppress any hints of bitterness and balance the sweet syrup.
  • Ginger: Ginger is the star ingredient in the syrup – it is spicy and peppery.
  • White sugar: For the neutral sweetness.
  • Brown sugar: For the deep and caramel-like flavor and rich brown color.

Step-by-Step

  1. Add tofu, soy milk, and salt to a food processor.

2. Blend until smooth.

3. Add white sugar, brown sugar, ginger, and water to a saucepan.

4. Transfer tofu to a piping bag and add to toast.

5. Finish with ginger syrup.

FAQs

  1. Do I need to press the firm tofu beforehand? Yes, it is highly recommended that you press the tofu for about 15-20 minutes to remove any excess liquid.
  2. Do I need soy milk? No, you can substitute it with water or another plant-based milk.
  3. How to store the leftovers? Store the whipped tofu in the fridge for up to 2 days. Store the ginger syrup in a separate container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
